Jason Woolf: I was initially introduced to custom footbeds back in 1989 when working at a local ski shop in the UK, which ignited my interest in foot dynamics and the way custom insoles worked and the benefits they gave.

Since then, working with footbeds, feet and boot customisation has taken me all over the world, working in many countries to help develop my skills, knowledge and experience while keeping a very open approach to custom footwear.

I first came to Wanaka in 2001, working within the snow industry specialising in custom boot fitting and custom insoles. I soon fell in love with Wanaka, and this has been my home ever since.  In 2003 I set up a distribution company importing outdoor products which included custom liners, boot fitting aids and insoles to help cater for this particular areas, while still actively being involved in custom boot fitting and training of others.

With over 30 years of experience with custom insoles and boot modifications as well as custom boot fitting, my love and passion for helping people support their feet for all activities has brought me to establish SOLELAB. My aim is to produce the most comfortable and supportive footbeds for every foot and every activity.
